Promoting Cross-Cultural Interaction in Games

The Worldplay Research Initiative (WRI) is a collaborative research project that explores the issues associated with cross-cultural interactions in virtual worlds. Our goal is to identify creative ways that players, game developers, and industry professionals can nurture and extend transnational cooperation in virtual worlds. Linked to the course “Games for the Web,” this project is spearheaded by approximately eighteen communication scholars at Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

The WorldPlay blog will chronicle our researcher’s efforts to connect with gamers, analyze feedback, and brainstorm and develop ideas that help promote transnational interaction within games.
